There are three open seats and seven candidates running for SMFC School Board. Parent participation in this election is critical to supporting students in our public schools.

The PTA Council & League of Women Voters hosted a Candidate Forum last week that all seven candidates attended. You can view it in its entirety here:

Parents of school-age kids typically have low voter turn-out. You have a chance to make a change by exercising your right to vote for our children's education. We are lucky to live in San Mateo County where there are so many ways to vote in this election:

Mail your mailed ballot on or before November 7. If you have not received a mailed ballot, download a vote by mail ballot application and send it in by October 31.

***Also you can request to become a permanent vote by mail voter.***

California law allows voters to cast their ballot any time during the 29 day period prior to Election Day. You may vote in person with your mailed ballot or on the electronic voting machine (eSlate).

Monday-Friday until November 6, 8:00 am-5:00 pm

Saturday, November 4, 10:00 am-3:00 pm

Vote in person at SMC Elections Division, 40 Tower Road, San Mateo. You can also drop off your mailed ballot at any time at the 24-hour dropbox at SMC Elections Division until 8:00 pm on November 7.

Tuesday, November 7, 7:00 am-8:00 pm

Vote in person or drop off your mailed ballot at your designated polling place (see below to find your polling place) or at SMC Elections Division, 40 Tower Road, San Mateo.

Check your voting status:

  • Confirm your registration status
  • Find your polling place
  • View/print your voter pamphlet

Local elections truly matter. Your vote has a real impact. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for actively participating in our school and community.
