Breaking news: the Bayside PTSA is now officially the Bayside PTA. PTA members unanimously voted today to re-name ourselves a PTA as a part of updating our bylaws. Reasons included: it's simpler & more recognizable and the PTA prefers to work directly with Student Council and other student clubs for input & collaboration.
In other news:
- We convened a nominations committee to begin elections for next year's PTA Executive Board.
- The PTA spent $35,000 in the last two months, including paying for an Ancient Artifacts Assembly, an African Story-telling Assembly, an on-site Bio-printer demo, and a Marionette performance; teacher supplies; art, sports and club supplies; bio-tech kits; STEM supplies; and a Math para-educator salary.
- The PTA's marquee event is coming up: FAB Lab is on March 16th and we're holding a meeting this Monday, Jan. 29th at 8am in the Staff Lounge to kick-off the planning. Come join us as we plan this fun-filled evening that ignites a life-long love of STEM learning & discovery.
- Principal Cosmos presented an LCAP presentation about state funding and student assessment and gathered input from parents for next year's spending priorities.
Thanks to the 20 people who attended today's meeting. Our next PTA meeting is an evening one: February 21st at 7pm. Please join us if you can.
Thank you for all of your generous support of the PTA.
