The Bayside Academy School Walk-A-Jog and Family Fun Festival is fast approaching! We're looking forward to seeing you on Friday, September 15, 2017.
Pledges are due Friday, August 25, 2017, which means that this is the final week to Come One, Come All and seek-a-pledge on. Here are some convenient tips to pass along to your walk-a-joggers.
5 Tips for Obtaining Pledges
1) Ask immediate family members.
In addition to your parents, ask older siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. Let them know that you're helping to raise money for your school's PTSA, which helps provide important programs for your school.
2) Plan ahead for neighborhood pledging.
Want to ask neighbors for pledges? That's a fine idea. Keep two things in mind. Set aside some days and times (this week) to go walk the neighborhood. Coordinate with a parent, or ask a parent if an older sibling can take you around.
3) Use the phone.
The home phone is a device that your parents once used to stay in touch with family and friends, before Facebook came along. Ask your parents if you can call friends and relatives who live outside the Bay Area. They may be interested in making a pledge. Remember that checks must be made out to Bayside Academy PTSA.
4) Coordinate with friends on the same block (or nearby).
If you have friends at school who live a few houses away, ask them which houses (in your neighborhood) they've already visited. Then, identify other neighbors that have yet to be visited. It'll increase your chance of a pledge.
5) If at first you don't succeed...
If a neighbor isn't home the first time you visit, try finding different times (during the day or evening) to try again on subsequent days.
