🔹COSTUME EXCHANGE
Thank you to everyone who donated to our Halloween Costume Drive! Join us after school today, from 2:15pm-3:15pm in the breezeway by the office, to “shop” for a free Halloween costume. All Booksin families are welcome to browse and pick out a costume!  Remaining costumes will be donated to students at our SJUSD sister school Allen@Steinbeck.

🔹BESCA GENERAL MEETING
Please join us in the cafeteria this Friday, October 17th, at 8:20am, for our BESCA General Meeting.  We will be talking about walkathon, upcoming community events, as well as other topics. This is a great way to stay in the know about all that’s taking place this school year.  We look forward to seeing you then!

🔹WGMS/WGHS PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT
Families in the community are welcome to join the WGMS/WGHS Athletic Boosters on Sunday, 10/19 at 9:30am, at the WGMS Pickleball Courts for their annual tournament (9:30am-1:00pm, $75) and Newcomer Clinic (12:30pm, $35). There will be beginner and intermediate brackets.  If you are brand new to the game, the Newcomer Clinic is the perfect way to learn the basics.

🔹WORLD WRAPPS ALL DAY DINING FUNDRAISER
Next Thursday, October 23rd, is our next all day dining fundraiser. Visit World Wrapps, located in the Pruneyard at 1875 S. Bascom, #165, mention Booksin and show the following flyer, and World Wrapps will generously donate 25% of your meal back to Booksin. This offer is good whether you dine in or order take out!

As we gear up for Walkathon, the team at Almaden Valley Athletic Club (AVAC) is offering two deals for Booksin families for the month of October:

• Get 30% off your first month of Swimming Lessons or NinjaZone classes

🔹BOOKSIN GARDEN WORK PARTY
Save the date for a work party in the garden! Our Garden Leads, Rebecca Bitter and Amanda Halbakken, will be hosting an optional garden maintenance day on Sunday, November 9th, from 9:00am-2:00pm. They will be weeding, trimming, and cleaning up the garden and could use some extra hands! Snacks, drinks, and lunch will be provided.

The yearbook cover from last year won an award for 3rd place in the 2024-2025 Picaboo Yearbooks Hall of Fame contest. Thanks again to Booksin parent, Greg Kletzel, for designing a winning cover!
