We have a sweet way for you to share your excess Halloween candy! BESCA has once again teamed up with Operation Care and Comfort and Booksin's Student Council Students to collect leftover candy that will be bagged and delivered to Veterans at VA Hospitals and to deployed military members. Please bring your candy donations before or after school to your child's classroom today through Thursday, November 6. Your contributions mean so much to our community, the gratitude of the troops when they receive these treats is heartfelt, and it brings them a small piece of “home” while they’re away. BONUS! 🪥 We’re also be collecting new toothbrushes to donate to Willow Glen Cares at WGMS/WGHS.

🔹MOUNTAIN MIKE’S ALL DAY DINING FUNDRAISER
Booksin’s next all day dining fundraiser is just around the corner. THIS Thursday, November 6th, join friends and family at Mountain Mike’s, located at 2306 Almaden Rd, for some tasty pizza. Whether you dine in or order carry out, Mountain Mike’s will donate 20% of your purchase back to Booksin! Please show the flyer below when ordering your meal.  We hope to see you there!

🔹BOOKSIN STUDENT MAKER'S FAIRE SIGN UPS CLOSE THIS FRIDAY!
We are so excited for the positive response to Booksin's first student Maker's Faire, so far we have 18 booths signed up! Sign up here by THIS Friday, November 7th. The event will take place in the Booksin cafeteria on Friday, November 21 and is a chance for students to show off their creativity, practice entrepreneurial skills, and learn about money management in a supportive environment. Students can sell handmade items, offer a fun experience, and even team up with a sibling or friend to host a booth together - the possibilities are endless! We just ask that no food items be sold (pet treats are ok). Booths are free to host, all materials will be supplied by the student seller, and any profits will be kept by the student. This is a student-run event but we are requiring one adult per booth be present to oversee the money exchange. Booth ideas will be reviewed to make sure there’s a good variety of offerings. Please reach out to Keara at events@mybesca.com with any questions.

🔹BOOKSIN GARDEN WORK PARTY
Our Garden Leads, Rebecca Bitter and Amanda Halbakken, are hosting an optional garden maintenance day this Sunday, November 9th, from 9:00am-2:00pm. They will be weeding, trimming, and cleaning up the garden and could use some extra hands! Snacks, drinks, and lunch will be provided.

🔹SECOND HARVEST FOOD DRIVE
1 in 6 of our Silicon Valley neighbors rely on Second Harvest for food. Booksin families are helping support their work, and every dollar makes a difference. We’ve set up a fundraising page to help provide meals to local families in need. Participation is completely optional, and contributions will be accepted through November 30th. You can learn more and donate here.
