                                           📣 ANNOUNCEMENTS

🔹BOOKSIN THEATER AUDITIONS THIS WEEK
Auditions for this year's after school theater production of Moana Jr. (January-March) for 3rd-5th graders, will be held THIS WEEK on Monday and Tuesday, with callbacks on Wednesday. Students who are auditioning should be prepared to recite some lines as well as sing a song, which can all be found HERE. If your child is interested in participating, you must sign up for an audition spot HERE. We also have a sign up for students interested in working backstage. Rehearsals will begin Tuesday, January 6th, and performances are scheduled for the weekend of March 27th - 29th, 2026, with in-school performances on April 2nd & 3rd. Students must participate in auditions to be cast in the show.

🔹MENDOCINO FARMS DINING FUNDRAISER
Mendocino Farms is Booksin’s next dining fundraiser! If you are looking for an easy and delicious meal for your family, this is the perfect choice! TOMORROW, Tuesday December 16th, from 2pm-9pm, visit Mendocino Farms, located at 1875, South Bascom, Campbell (in the Pruneyard), show the flyer below, and they will donate 20% of your purchase back to Booksin.  You can also use the promo code “GIVEBACK” to order online for pick up or delivery. 🔹KIWANIS CHRISTMAS TREE LOT
Do you still need to pick out the perfect holiday tree? Kiwanis Club of San Jose has got you covered! Head to their tree lot in the Cambrian Park Plaza, find the perfect tree as well as a beautiful wreath, and they will donate 10% of your purchase back to Booksin!



🔹YEARBOOK PHOTOS
Did you take some fun photos for any of the spirit days this year? Please send them to the yearbook for consideration. After uploading your photos HERE, choose the folder for the corresponding spirit day. You’ll need to upload each spirit day separately to put them all in the correct folders.

🔹BESCA BYLAWS
Each school year BESCA reviews our association’s bylaws, and about every three years we make updates to keep them aligned with how we operate as well as with SJUSD requirements for school-connected organizations. The proposed amendments for 2025-2026 are available for review and comment HERE. Please open the document in “comments” mode so you can see the suggested changes and the reasoning behind them. The update process is several months long and includes an initial executive board vote and review by our principal and the teacher advisory committee. The final vote by the general membership will be held at the next BESCA General Meeting on Friday, January 23 and requires a two-thirds approval of all members present.
