🔹BESCA GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING MINUTES
Thank you to everyone who attended our BESCA General Membership Meeting last Friday. If you weren’t able to attend, please use this LINK to view the minutes. We were also glad to welcome representatives from the WGMS/WGHS parent organizations, who shared ways parents can get involved at the school. We hope to see you at our next meeting in the cafeteria on Friday, 4/24!
🔹QUILTER NEEDED FOR WALKATHON T-SHIRT QUILT
We are looking for volunteers with quilting experience to create a quilt from past Walkathons shirts. The finished quilt will be included in our exciting Booksin Bash live auction on Friday, April 24th! If you’re interested in taking on this project, please reach out to Katie Prescott at spiritwear@mybesca.
🔹ORDER YOUR YEARBOOK NOW!
Preorder your 2025-2026 yearbook by Friday, April 17th in order to receive your yearbook before the last day of school. For an extra cost, you can add personalized pages to the back of your student’s book. If you purchase the option to personalize your yearbook, you have until Thursday, April 16th to complete your page customization online.
🔹SPRING CLEANING CLOTHING DRIVE
Booksin Elementary is proud to partner with Allen at Steinbeck for their annual Ally’s Closet event, supporting local families in need. This year, Booksin will be collecting gently used clothing and shoes of all sizes to donate to Steinbeck's school community. Collection bins will be located around Booksin on Friday, April 3rd, and Monday-Thursday, April 13th-16th. This is the perfect time to do some spring cleaning all the while supporting our local San Jose community!
🔹CREPEVINE ALL DAY DINING FUNDRAISER
Crepvine, located at 1100 Lincoln Avenue, is Booksin’s next dining fundraiser. Visit the restaurant any time between 3-9pm on Thursday, April 16th, and Crepevine will donate 10% (as well as match your donation) back to Booksin. Just show the flyer below. We hope to see you there!
🔹BOOKSIN BASH
The Booksin Bash is coming up on Friday, April 24th from 6-11pm! Join us for a cocktail/ mocktail party with a live auction, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and dancing. This is an adult only social event. The event will be held at the San Jose Women’s Club, a beautiful historic 1920’s Spanish Revival building in the heart of Downtown San Jose. If you like to dress for a theme, we encourage you to embrace the Wes Anderson aesthetic. See the invitation below for a link to a mood board, but feel free to wear whatever you'd like. 🔹SJ GIANTS FAMILY BASEBALL NIGHT
On Friday, May 8th at 7pm, the San Jose Giants are hosting Booksin families for family baseball night! Join your friends (and Louie🐾) for an exciting night at the ballpark, complete with games between innings, a 7th inning stretch sing-a-long, and fireworks after the game. Tickets are only $15 each (including processing fees) and available here or using the QR Code on the flyer. Use the code BOOKSIN26 when buying your tickets, a portion of the ticket sales will be donated back to Booksin. We look forward to seeing you there!
