BESCA GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING FORMAT FEEDBACK
BESCA is considering a new day, time, and format (virtual or in-person) for next school year's General Membership Meetings and we’d love your input! VOLUNTEER CLEARANCE FOR THE 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR                      
As we wrap up the current school year, here’s a quick reminder that the annual SJUSD volunteer clearance application for the 2025–2026 school year will open in mid-July. Applications submitted before then apply to the 2024-2025 school year only. We truly appreciate your enthusiasm and look forward to welcoming our volunteers for the new school year soon!

SJ GIANTS GAME 
The ever popular Booksin night at the San Jose Giants game on Friday was a huge hit! Booksin families & Louie 🐾 had a great time playing games, eating yummy snacks, and watching some exciting baseball! Thanks for joining us! 

THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK
Booksin is so grateful for the incredible support shown for our amazing teachers and staff throughout Teacher Appreciation Week. Special thanks to our Room Parents for organizing the class events and to our Teacher Appreciation Luncheon Committee for hosting a festive and memorable luncheon for our staff last Thursday. 


ART@BOOKSIN STUDENT ART SHOW
It’s been another incredible year of Art@Booksin, and we’re excited to celebrate our young artists! During Open House on Tuesday, May 13, be sure to stop by the cafeteria between 5:30-7:30pm for the Student Art Show. The cafeteria will be transformed into a vibrant gallery featuring over 750 pieces of student artwork - one from every student, TK through 5th grade - highlighting 50 unique art lessons in both 2D and 3D mediums. This inspiring event is made possible by our amazing volunteer art docents who bring art to the classes each month. Come celebrate the creativity of our students - you’ll be amazed by what they’ve created!
FAMILY FUN NIGHT

FAMILY FUN NIGHT TALENT SHOW "AUDITIONS"
The Booksin Talent Show is just around the corner and it's time for students to show us what they've got! Whether you sing, dance, act, do a magic trick, or have a unique talent, this is your moment to shine. Every student will be included in the final show but participation starts with attending the preview. The preview will take place after school tomorrow, Tuesday, May 13th, from 2:05 to 3:30 p.m. on the outside stage in front of the library. All Booksin students are welcome to take part. We’re looking forward to seeing the wide range of talent in our Booksin community! Find the sign up in Konstella or scan the QR code on the flyer.
ALL WEEK DINING FUNDRAISER AT SUSHI CONFIDENTIAL                                                                                                                                                                                             Starting Sunday May 11th through Friday May 16th, Sushi Confidential (in Campbell and San Jose) is giving BESCA back 20% of sales when the flyer below is shown or Booksin is mentioned. On Mother’s Day, the event is from 11am-4pm. Then, starting Monday and running through Friday (May 12th-16th), the event will be all day!! See flyer for more details.
To date, our Dining Nights Out, which help fund many of our programs at Booksin, have brought in over $4,600. Let’s make our last DNO of the year a huge success!

JAMBA JUICE CONTEST
 Don't forget that Jamba Juice is sponsoring a contest between several local schools. From March 17th through June 17th, every purchase at Jamba Juice (exclusively at the 1570 Bascom Avenue location) earns 1 token for Booksin.  The school with the most tokens wins $500! How to participate: Each time you visit Jamba Juice to order your favorite smoothie or snack, tell them you are with Booksin to make sure our school gets credit. Share this with friends and family - every sip counts!
