BESCA is considering a new day, time, and format (virtual or in-person) for next school year's General Membership Meetings and we’d love your input! CORNERSTONE “BIG DAY” CELEBRATION
We’re excited to announce that Project Cornerstone’s Big Day will be celebrated during students’ lunch recess this Friday, May 9! For those who are not familiar with it, Project Cornerstone is a youth development initiative by the YMCA of Silicon Valley, focused on helping young people grow into healthy, caring, and responsible adults. It emphasizes positive youth development, social-emotional learning, and school-based programs. At Booksin, our monthly Cornerstone’s ABC Program brings volunteer parent readers into each classroom once a month from September to April to share a book and a corresponding lesson centered on important values like respect, responsibility, and kindness. The annual program culminates in our "Big Day" which is a fun, school-wide celebration that recognizes all the positive character traits students have explored and practiced throughout the year. During lunch recess, students will enjoy activities and games to celebrate their growth. We can’t wait to celebrate our amazing students!

This offer is valid for dine-in, takeout, catering orders, and sushi-making kits!

So far this year, our Dining Nights Out have raised over $4,600! Let’s make this final dining event a huge success by taking a night off from cooking and enjoying lunch or dinner at Sushi Confidential next week!
ART@BOOKSIN STUDENT ART SHOW
It’s been another incredible year of Art@Booskin! During Open House next week on Tuesday, May 13, the Student Art Show will be held in the cafeteria from 5:30pm-7:30pm. The Art Show is a fantastic evening where we celebrate our students' creativity and showcase their art. The cafeteria is transformed into a gallery with an art piece from every student on display - that's over 750 works of art representing 50 unique lessons across TK to 5th grade! The success of the Art@Booksin program is made possible thanks to all of our dedicated volunteer art docents who lead monthly lessons in 2D and 3D art. You won't want to miss this - you'll be amazed at what the students have created this year!

FAMILY FUN NIGHT
BESCA is excited to announce that Family Fun Night (FFN) is happening on May 16! This beloved Booksin tradition marks the final BESCA social event of the school year and is our way of celebrating families as we head into summer with an evening full of carnival-style games, activities, and delicious food truck options. Tickets will be sold online and in-person at the event, stay tuned for a ticket link coming this week!

FAMILY FUN NIGHT TALENT SHOW "AUDITIONS"
The Booksin Talent Show is just around the corner and it's time for students to show us what they've got! Whether you sing, dance, act, do a magic trick, or have a unique talent, this is your moment to shine. Every student will be included in the final show but participation starts with attending the preview. The preview will take place on Tuesday, May 13th from 2:05 to 3:30 p.m. on the outside stage in front of the library. All Booksin students are welcome to take part. We’re looking forward to seeing the wide range of talent in our Booksin community! Find sign up in Konstella or scan the QR code on the flyer.

FAMILY FUN NIGHT SPONSORSHIPS
As we plan for Family Fun Night on Friday, May 16, we’re excited to offer a special sponsorship opportunity for our Booksin supporters and local businesses. With a limited number of activity sponsorships available and lots of attendees, this is a great chance for high visibility and community engagement! Check out the flyer below to see which events are open to  sponsorship. JAMBA JUICE CONTEST

 Don't forget that Jamba Juice is sponsoring a contest between several local schools. From March 17th through June 17th, every purchase at Jamba Juice (exclusively at the 1570 Bascom Avenue location) earns 1 token for Booksin.  The school with the most tokens wins $500! How to participate: Each time you visit Jamba Juice to order your favorite smoothie or snack, tell them you are with Booksin to make sure our school gets credit. Share this with friends and family- every sip counts!
