🔹BESCA GENERAL MEETING MINUTES
BESCA holds in-person general meetings on Fridays throughout the school year. We know schedules can be busy, so if you miss a meeting and want to stay updated, you can find the meeting notes here. We hope to see you at our next meeting on Friday, October 17!
🔹WALKATHON VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Walkathon is Saturday, October 18th, and we need volunteers to help with everything from set up the day before to clean up when the walkathon is over. You can also sign up for shifts such as selling snacks and merchandise, or punching lap cards as the students run by. Volunteers for the day-of Walkathon do not need district clearance as it takes place outside of regular school hours. We are asking that all families in attendance sign up for at least ONE time slot per family. We need volunteers to make this event the incredible success that it is. Tea Collection, a children’s clothing store, is having their annual online "School Days" sale that also gives back! Our next dining fundraiser is a sweet treat! This Thursday, September 25th, head on over to Icicles at 1275 Lincoln Avenue, order some yummy ice cream, mention you're from Booksin and Icicles will donate 20% of your purchase back to BESCA!
🔹YEARBOOK LEAD SHADOW NEEDED
This school year is Karen Wong's last year at Booksin, and BESCA will be seeking a new parent to take on the important role of Yearbook Lead next school year. The Shadow position does not have much work to do this year unless you want to be more involved. You will follow along with the process and stay connected with emails and communications with the team. There is a clear process and it is well organized. You do not need professional graphic design experience to be the Yearbook Lead. If you have an eye for design, an interest in learning, strong organizational skills and attention to details, and the ability to meet deadlines, we’d love to hear from you. A huge thank you to Angel Ocampo for organizing such an amazing Bingo Night last Friday! Both sessions sold out, and families had a blast with lots of prizes won. Did you capture some great moments? The yearbook team would love to feature your photos in the yearbook! To share, head to Picaboo , our yearbook site, and upload your favorite Bingo Night shots. Once they’ve finished uploading, select the “BINGO NIGHT” folder under Events. Your pictures could be part of this year’s yearbook!
🔹WILLOW GLEN HIGH SCHOOL HOMECOMING PARADE
Homecoming week for Willow Glen High School is October 6–11, and it’s packed with traditions that bring our community together! The Homecoming Parade will be held the weekend after the fall break on Saturday, October 11 from 9:00-11:00am through downtown Willow Glen on Lincoln Avenue. WGHS has invited us to participate, and we’d love to see Booksin represented to show off our Bulldog spirit! To make it happen, we need 1-2 volunteers to help organize our group. Once a lead is in place, we’ll open sign-ups so families can join in the fun. If you’re interested in helping organize, please email Emily Fuehrer at President@mybesca.com. Without a lead, unfortunately, we won’t be able to participate in this fun opportunity.
