OUTSTANDING WALKATHON PLEDGES
If you still have outstanding pledge checks to turn in, please mail or drop these off to the Booksin main office. And don't forget Corporate Match; it takes an extra step but makes a BIG difference for our community. As checks and corporate matches continue to arrive, you can track our WAT pledge progress here: https://pledgestar.com/booksin/eventmonitor.html
CANDY & TOOTHBRUSH DRIVE
BESCA has teamed up with Booksin's Student Council to host a leftover Halloween candy drive to support our troops through Operation Care and Comfort! We are also collecting new toothbrushes for Willow Glen Cares, which supports WG Middle and High School communities.
DINING NIGHT OUT
Booksin’s next Dining Night Out is this Tuesday, November 5 and Wednesday, November 6. On these days, anytime between 11am to 9pm, dine in or order online for take out at Asian Box in the Pruneyard, and the restaurant will donate 25% of your purchase price back to Booksin! Please bring the attached flyer.
WALK 'N ROLL
Did you know that years ago, almost 50 percent of kids living within two miles of their school walked or biked but today, fewer than 10 percent of our children travel to school by foot or by pedal? Walk n’ Roll is a San Jose city program with the goals of:
- Increasing walking and biking to school,
- Fostering a healthy and active lifestyle for students and parents,
- Reducing traffic congestion and related air pollution, and
- Increase safety within school zones.
Booksin is hosting a Walk N Roll event this Wednesday, November 6th! Students are encouraged to walk or wheel to school. Parent volunteers will be stationed at all main entrance gates to welcome and hand out PAWS to participating students. *Reminder to all participants that for safety, please remove and walk all bikes, scooters, skates etc. once on campus!*
