📚HICKLEBEE’S BOOK FAIR @ BOOKSIN LIBRARY📚
December 1st-December 5th
Every year, we partner with Hicklebee’s Bookstore on Lincoln Avenue to transform our library into a mini bookstore. Students, families, and friends can buy a variety of books and small gifts for kids and adults. With the money made at the Book Fair, we are able to replace well-loved books and add popular new titles to our school library. This is also a great time to get some holiday shopping done! Please see below for important information about the Hicklebee’s Book Fair.
🔹STUDENT HOURS
Most classes will have a chance to visit the Book Fair during their regularly scheduled library time. Kids who bring money can shop during their class time, if their teacher allows, or during recess and lunch.
🔹PUBLIC HOURS (12/1 - 12/5)
The Book Fair will be open to parents, families, and friends after school each day with special extended hours on Tuesday.
- Monday: 2:15 PM-4:00 PM
- Tuesday: 2:15 PM-5:30 PM
- Wednesday & Thursday: 2:15 PM-4:00 PM
- Friday: 2:15 PM-3:15 PM
🔹BOOK FAIR TIPS
- The Book Fair can be crowded right after school. If we feel that the library is too crowded, we will ask guests to wait in line outside the library until the crowd thins out. This may also happen during recess and/or lunch, but we will do our best with the volunteers we have to give everyone plenty of time to shop.
- Each student can create a wishlist when their class visits the book fair. Ask your child to see their wish list to see which books they like!
- Donate a book to your child’s classroom or the school library! Teachers and our Librarian will create a “Wishlist” of books that they would like to add to their classroom libraries or the school library.
- On site after school care programs may be able to bring kids to the Book Fair, if desired. Ask your provider if they will participate, and send money with your child, or stop by on Tuesday when you pick up your child as there are extended hours until 5:30 PM.
- Gifts can be purchased or ordered at the Special Order desk. Hicklebee’s carries adult fiction, non-fiction, cookbooks, and much more! They can special order almost anything if you can’t find it at the Book Fair!
🔹KONSTELLA VOLUNTEER SIGN UP
The Book Fair can't happen without volunteers! Volunteer shifts are 1-2 hours and include ringing up purchases at the cash register, monitoring lines, and supervising exits to manage traffic flow. Please sign up HERE if you’re able to help. If you have any questions, please contact Michelle Pilling at bookfair@mybesca.com
