Welcome back, Booksin Families!
The first day of school is just a couple days away! School starts this Thursday, August 7th. To ensure everyone has a smooth transition back to school, a few helpful reminders:
Class Lists
The main office will post the class lists on Tuesday, August 5th. Once you know your assigned class, log into Konstella and add your child(ren) to their correct classroom. Follow this link for more information about how to do this.
- Incoming TK and Kindergarten Students
On Tuesday, August 5th at 1:00pm, find out which class you are in and connect with new classmates! Classes will be posted outside Booksin’s front office. Then, At 1:30pm, please join us at the green tables near the cafeteria and Cline Park. BESCA will provide a sweet treat for our TK & K students to enjoy. Some of our BESCA Board members will be there to answer any questions and welcome you to the school. - Incoming 1st-5th Grade Students
Class lists for grades 1-5 will be posted on the library windows on Tuesday, August 5th at 4:00pm.
Bell Schedule
School begins at 8:10am, and students are dismissed at 2:06pm. Please arrive at school no earlier than 7:50am, unless you are getting breakfast, which starts at 7:40am. Parents will be allowed on campus to drop off and pick up students. However, parents are being asked to leave after the morning bell and to arrive no earlier than 1:55pm for pick up.
**From August 7-15, 2025, TK/K Students will be dismissed early at 12:06pm.
School Supplies
While the district provides basic supplies to support learning, our teachers request that families donate specific supplies to supplement the classroom materials. Donated supplies may be kept for personal use or shared amongst the students in the classroom, depending on teacher needs. The school supply shopping lists for each grade have been posted at https://www.mybesca.com/school-supplies
BESCA's Welcome Back Meetings
We hope you will join us for the BESCA Welcome Back Meetings to meet the BESCA Board and hear about what we have planned for this year! You will also have a chance to hear from Principal Tan and the BESCA Program Leads about this school year’s programs, events, and volunteer opportunities.
- TK/K & New Families: Thursday, August 7th from 9:15am-10:05am in the Cafeteria
- Returning Families, All Grades: Friday, August 8, 8:30am-9:15am virtual on Webex
Merch N’ Munch
Kick off the new school year and socialize with new friends at this year's Merch N' Munch held on Friday, August 15th from 2:06pm-4:00pm. Booksin spirit wear (new designs!) will be available for purchase as well as tasty treats from Kona Ice and Teaspoon Boba. Cash and electronic payment will be accepted. Look for us on the blacktop near the playground!
Walkathon 2025
The 37th annual Booksin Walkathon will be Saturday, October 18, 2025. The kick-off informational meeting will be held virtually on Thursday, August 21 at 7:30pm via Webex. Stay tuned for the link!
Volunteering
Booksin has many opportunities for parents to volunteer; you can teach subjects like art or garden, join classes on field trips, help with school wide events, etc. In order to volunteer you must be cleared by San Jose Unified School District. If you haven't already done so, please use this link to fill out the necessary forms. Whether you are a new or returning volunteer, you must be cleared for the 2025-2026 school year. Please note that BESCA is busily preparing for this year's programs and will open classroom volunteer sign ups (e.g. Art, Garden, Library, Yearbook) on Konstella starting on Monday, August 18, 2025.
