Join us for an in-depth conversation on how to effectively communicate and advocate with teachers and the school to support your child’s growth. This is an affinity group space and will focus on addressing particular concerns of Asian and Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI)-identifying parents, caregivers, and guardians.
It will be a great opportunity for AAPI parents and caregivers to network with a wide range of AAPI parents/caregivers in CT, and gain some skills around communication and advocacy in the school setting.
The first session is Thursday, 10/14, 6:30-8:00pm on Zoom - with simultaneous interpretation in Mandarin Chinese and Vietnamese.
Facilitators: Gigi Belen and Yukiyo Iida (Parent Leaders, West Hartford Parent Community EDI) and Julia Chang and Kathy Lu (Immigrant History Initiative)
