PTB Roles & Responsibilities - 2023/24 School Year
Co-Presidents: Responsible for oversight of all PTB operations, fundraisers, and events. Key points of contact with school administrators, district administrators, other PTB organizations, and community organizations supporting public schools.
2023/24 Designees: Lauren Messner (Year 2); Beth Mangini (Year 1)
Treasurers: Responsible for drafting and managing the PTB’s annual budget and associated expenses, reconciling accounts, and controlling access to bank accounts and online payment processors including Paypal and Stripe.
2023/24 Designees: Julia Carabillo (Money in); John Laverty (Money out)
Secretary: Responsible for taking notes during all PTB meetings, keeping records of notes, building and tracking Google Forms, managing the PTB’s digital files and the PTB/school combined calendar, and filing the Annual Report with the State of Connecticut.
2023/24 Designees: Nina Kunkes
Community Outreach: Responsible for coordinating food drives, coat drives, emergency funding needs, scholarships, and other supplies as needed to help ensure that all Braeburn families have the resources to nourish and support their students. Serve as the PTB’s liaison with the School Social Worker.
2023/24 VP Designees: Heather Monaco; Kate Walas
Teacher Outreach: Responsible for coordinating and overseeing all teacher/classroom related PTB initiatives including recruiting and managing room parents; planning teacher luncheons and refreshments throughout the year; planning and implementing teacher appreciation week; and overseeing and ensuring teacher utilization of their PTB budget. Serves as PTB liaison to teachers and represents PTB in faculty meetings in partnership with Co-Presidents when appropriate.
2023 VP Designees: Erica Rose; Emily Marks
Communications: Responsible for managing PTB’s internal and external communications to include curating and distributing weekly newsletters, overseeing Konstella, keeping the PTB webpage and social media platforms updated, serving as liaisons between the Braeburn community and the PTB.
2023/24 VP Designees: Jessica Lastarza; Megan Rheiner
EDI (Community Building): Responsible for planning and implementing events and initiatives that foster a strong community, promote understanding, and further Braeburn’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Serves as PTB’s liaison with WHPS on EDI related matters.
2023/24 VP Designees: Gigi Belen; Second TBD (Needed)
Fundraising & Events: Responsible for planning all non-event fundraisers to include spirit wear, group sporting events, and read-a-thon (??)…Provides oversight and support to event Chairs to ensure that events run smoothly.
