Multicultural Night 2019 - Sign Ups Open
Braeburn Elementary School

Multicultural Night will be held Wednesday, February 27th, 6-7:30pm (snow date: Thursday February 28th) in the school cafeteria. The evening will include informational "booths,” food from various cultures/countries and cultural presentations performed by students and/or Braeburn families as well as our diverse community.

In holding Multicultural Night, all cultures within our community are included and celebrated. This year, we are highlighting Celebrations, and we invite families to share about different celebrations that you may have, regardless of country affiliation.

For example, some ideas of celebrations and traditions to share about each:
  • Indian wedding (long ceremony with many parts, henna art)
  • American wedding (brief ceremony, sometimes religious; tossing the bouquet, cutting the cake)
  • Rosh Hashanah (Jewish new year, apples and honey)
  • Christmas (Advent wreath)
  • Quinceañera (15th birthday celebration)
There are many ways to participate in this fantastic community event.

 Options for participation and volunteering:

  • Help set up before/clean up after event
  • Volunteer during the event to help things go smoothly (welcome table, arts and crafts table, assist with performances, etc.)
  • Host a booth
  • Cultural Performance/Demonstration (Examples: Irish step dance, song sung from different country, book reading in another language, martial arts demonstration)
