WH EDI Mission & Goals 

Mission: The purpose of the WH EDI is to create a collaborative space for parents, educators, and community members to come together to listen, learn, and take action on equity initiatives for systemic change that will ensure all children have the opportunities for educational success.  

Goals 

• To center the voices of students and families who have experienced systemic inequity based on race, ethnicity, ability, socioeconomic identifiers, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other way.

• To provide learning opportunities for students, families, community members, and educators to deepen their understanding of racial and educational equity.

• To support networking on an individual, school, district, and community level to build trusting relationships for collaborative work and equitable decision making.

• To build capacity in families to empower them to be advocates and change agents for equity.  

Objectives

• Building based learning opportunities through parent and/or intergenerational workshops and trainings.

• Continued collaboration with the district for Family and School Partnership Series to provide a space where all families can build relationships and have dialogues around equity, diversity, and inclusion topics with other families, community members, and educators.

• Recruit families to participate in parent leadership programs offered in WH (PEP, PLTI,)

• Identify and apply for funding to be able to bring in speakers and workshops for learning opportunities.
