Dear Families,

In order to protect the health of our community, Breakthrough Montessori is following the decision of DC Public Schools and adopting a modified calendar for March and April.
  • Monday March 16: Faculty and staff report to Breakthrough to plan for distance learning. No school for students.
  • Tuesday, March 17 to Monday, March 23: Breakthrough will take its Spring Break for students and faculty. There will no longer be a Spring Break period in April.
  • Tuesday, March 24 to Tuesday, March 31: Students will participate in distance learning.
  • Wednesday, April 1: Breakthrough will resume operations.
We have been working tirelessly to design a distance learning program that honors our Montessori principles and uphold's your child's unique developmental journey. By the end of the day on Monday, March 16, families will receive an e-mail detailing our distance learning program and a plan for distributing the necessary print and digital materials

On Monday, March 16 we will also share information on meal service, grocery support and other services that will be available at Breakthrough during the closure

Since Breakthrough opened in 2016, I have found inspiration in the deep commitment of our faculty and parents to the mission of our school and to one another. Our community is facing an unprecedented challenge, but I know our commitment to each other will remain unshakeable.
