The fair will now be held on Monday, 2/24 in hopes of more families participating. Please read the following message on behalf of Johari Malik:
"Breakthrough will hold our first Black History Month Food Fair on Monday 2/24, during the daytime, on each campus. We are excited to share Black history from across the African Diaspora with the children through food! This event will be part of the school day as opposed to an after school event to make sure all of the children get to participate. Many of our staff members of African descent will be preparing food to represent their culture and we invite families in the community to participate as well. Please click here for a link to the sign-up sheet. We ask that you prepare enough food for 100 children to taste (not full serving sizes), as this will be a campus-wide event. There is a column on the sheet to share relevant allergy information or to include an ingredient list. Please reach out to Brianna at Takoma (brianna@
breakthroughmontessori.org) or Johari at Petworth (johari@breakthroughm ontessori.org) with any questions. Thanks in advance for helping to make this event a success!"
