We will get together at the Arboretum to take a walk to enjoy the beautiful cherry blossoms and magnolia blossoms. There are a few options to engage with this outing:
1. Meet at 10am in front of the Visitor's Services Building. From there, we will walk to the Holly and Magnolia Collections, where we will take a break to rest and/or run around and play. Then we will walk to the National Grove of State Trees where you are allowed to picnic. Families who would like to stay and picnic are invited to do so, while families who would like to leave can return from there to the parking lot.
2. Meet at the Holly and Magnolia Collections area at 11am to play without joining in on the walk. Parking is VERY limited in that area of the Arboretum and the security is very serious about not allowing double parking/parking on the side of the road during cherry blossom season, so be aware of that. Leave from there, or walk or drive to the Grove of State Trees for a picnic.
3. Meet at the Grove of State Trees at 12:15pm to picnic without joining in on the walk.
The walk is along paved roads, so anyone with mobility needs or difficulty navigating unpaved terrain will be able to join. Strollers will also be welcome. Dogs are allowed but must be on leash at all times.
