NOVEMBER CULTURAL EXPERIENCE THEME:
NATIVE AMERICAN GROUPS

Celebrating Native American groups continues the week of 11/27 with Ms. Marissa visiting classrooms to make Fry Bread.  Activity supplies (thanks families who donated!) were distributed to Guides and have been used throughout the month.

Books will continued to be used in classrooms after the conference/holiday break.

Take advantage of the amazing city we live in and the events that compliment the monthly theme.  We will highlight a few each month.  Here is what is still to come in November.
  • National Museum of the American Indian - Fri, Nov 24 10:00am - 4:00pm / Native American Heritage Day

Equity and Diversity at Breakthrough December 4 / 6-7:30p @ Breakthrough

The primary purpose of this meeting is to unveil and analyze the Statement of Values, so we can understand how it serves as a framework to support Breakthrough's mission.

The event will start with a reading of the Statement of Values, and breakdown the school's implementation of four core beliefs underlined  in the document: education for peace, striving for equity, supporting all children, and supporting all families.  Information will be shared by school staff and SHA officers followed by a question and answer session moderated by Jenn Roberts of Versed Education Group
