Breakthrough Montessori

Hi, Family!

It’s been awhile since our last update.  Charge it to our heads and not our hearts.  We’re still springing into gear since our break. We haven’t forgotten about you all though.  As a matter of fact, we’ve spent some of our time planning special events for all of our families!

Our theme for the rest of the year is Get Out and Play.  The weather is finally breaking and we want to take this show on the road… or rather, outside.  We’re hoping for more opportunities of learning and growing together, as well as moments of enjoying one another.  We’re planning playdates (co-hosted with the school), parent-staff reading groups, walks in the parks, a camping trip, a few fitness boot camps, volunteer opportunities and a little bit more.  Check out committee updates to see what’s going on in our community and how you can get in where you fit in!

As always, continue taking care of yourselves and each other.

With lots of Sunshine and Love,

Tova

SO MUCH FUN TO BE HAD!

There are so many opportunties to be together instead of listing them all in an emai we made a list.  Please print the attached PDF for all the dates of upcoming events and the details for each.

A few items are listed below (and on the PDF), but please be sure to print off the list and we'll keep this email short and sweet!

LET'S GO CAMPING!

Mark your calendar: May 19th we're taking a trip to Cunningham Falls Park for an overnight camping trip and you're invited.  If you're an experienced camper like one of our camping leaders, Rebecca H. or a newbee, no worries.  We still want you there.  We've already reserved some sites for families.  Our hope is to pair families: new-to-this with true-to-this.

If you're interested, please RSVP on Konstella.  When RSVP'ing, please let us know your camping experience.  More details coming your way!!!

APRIL CULTURAL EXPERIENCE THEME:
Middle Eastern Heritage and Culture

The May Monthly Theme celebrates Middle Eastern Heritage and Culture. As a special note, Ramadan is observed annually and this year it runs  from May 15th to June 14th. This observance is practiced by Muslims in the Middle East and around the world. During this time period, individuals fast from dawn until sunset.

The staff facilitators for this month are Mrs. Shahad, aftercare assistant and Mrs. Landy, front desk receptionist. They plan to share information with the children regarding culture, religion, food, clothing, the arts and celebrations. There will also be several activities around the theme for children at 3pm throughout the month.

Families are being asked to donate books that highlight Middle Eastern culture and history.  A sign up will be posted on Konstella for those who are able to donate.

If you have any questions or comments regarding this Month’s Theme please feel free to reach out via email at breakthroughsha@gmail.com. Thanks!
