A Message from Principal Neill:

Happy December! Can you believe we are almost finished with our first semester? Time is truly flying by this year! We have two weeks left in this semester, and during that time we will be doing MAP Assessments for grades 3-5, and Benchmark Assessments for grades kindergarten through fifth grade. Our teachers are working hard in their classrooms assisting students with reading, writing, and math facts. It is important for all parents to help us improve our academic performance through working with your child or children at home. Our children will be able to take their chrome books home for the break and the teachers will share the websites they can work on during that time.

I started a new adventure for our children with ¨Neill's on Wheels.¨

The children are being challenged to find and write where they found "Principal Neill on Wheels" throughout the building. They then put their responses into our response box and there is a name drawing for a prize from the SOAR store. The students are having a ball with this! You can definitely feel the excitement through the campus!!

Be sure to check out our upcoming events. Don't forget that we will have Coffee and Conversation with Ms. Neill this week. Have a wonderful weekend, and thank you so much for being a part of the Briar Vista Community. If you would like to contact me, feel free to email me at cammie_neill@dekalbschoolsga.org.

Principal Neill

Thank you!

Many of our wonderful Briar Vista Families were able to donate to our Annual Giving Campaign and we appreciate each and every one of you. While we did not reach our $10,000 goal by the end of this campaign, we will still be able to make some improvements in our teachers' lounge, help fund our mural as well as provide some equity for our students. If you would like to contribute, please do at tinyurl.com/BVEFundDrive2022

December Events:

Annual Giving Tree

One of the things that make Briar Vista unique, is our sense of community. The holiday season can bring so much joy to many families; however, it can also be the time of year when the burden of families in need is felt the most. This year is no different.

To make sure that all our families have something special for their winter holidays this year, we are continuing our Virtual Giving Tree for Briar Vista Families.

If you would like to donate funds to help us provide for these children, via PayPal (www.PayPal.me/BriarVista) or Zelle (Treasurer@BriarVistaElementary.com) and our board members or volunteers will shop for the children. If you would like to donate gift cards, please bring them at the designated drop-off date.
When you drop your wrapped gift, please be sure to write the identifying information on a sticky note or on the outside of the plastic bag so it gets to the correct person.

Wrapped gifts are to be dropped off on Wednesday, December 14th at the school. Gifts will be distributed Thursday, December 15th, and Friday, December 16th.

This shoe drive fundraiser goes beyond supporting our organization, they make an impact on thousands of lives. The shoes given to our shoe drive fundraiser should be gently worn, used and new. Of course, we always love to repurpose shoes that are in the best possible condition (please no holes or tears). And, we love new shoes best of all!
