A message from Principal Neill:

Greetings BVE Family and Friends,

We have had a wonderful week at Briar Vista! We hope that you all have had an opportunity to meet with your child's teacher during our scheduled parent-teacher conferences. Thank you to our wonderful teachers that continue to plan individual instruction tailored to your child and their needs. We are asking that all students read for at least 20 minutes per day during the school day and 30 minutes with their families. Please help us by encouraging your child to work on their own, and to log their reading minutes that are to be submitted to each homeroom teacher weekly. We will be recognizing students for their efforts that will pay off in their academic future.

As for carpooling, you are going to experience A LOT OF HEAVY TRAFFIC due to closures on LaVista and Shepard's Lane. Please have your child ready to exit the car and move forward upon departure so we can decrease the wait time for our other families as well as student tardies. We want your child to be present and on time for school. If your child exits the door before the inner circle, turn on your left blinker in hopes of moving more cars off campus. You will be able to turn left in the afternoons ONLY. You will need to follow the Crossing Guard's directions to keep all of our parents and students safe. It is important that we are kind and helpful to all our families at all times on campus.

This week we will have International Night, I am so proud of and grateful for our International Night Committee. Please join us for a time to fellowship and experience the diversity Briar Vista is known for while viewing dances and cultures. We look forward to seeing you and your family on Wednesday, October 19th, 6:00-7:30 pm.

Have a wonderful long weekend! We will see you bright and early, Monday day October 17th. If you would like to contact me, feel free to email me at cammie_neill@dekalbschoolsga.org
