Community Update - Week of February 15, 2021

We encourage the Brookvale families to stay up-to-date with FUSD issues and speak up for the school community. Here are some updates for this week.

Wed. 2/17
FUSD School Board Meeting - Special Meeting on Budget Balancing Solutions, 5pm, Agenda (board mtg. info below)

Fri. 2/19
Fremont Council PTA Listening Session, 5pm, Register

The mission of Fremont Council PTA (FCPTA) is to promote the welfare of all children and families in the Fremont Unified School District in cooperation with the National PTA, the California State PTA, and Peralta District PTA. FCPTA oversees all of the PTAs in FUSD.

Event description from FCPTA:

  • FCPTA is offering a listening session to the parents of elementary students to understand the community feedback and concerns on distance learning:
    • What is working?
    • What is not?
    • What can be improved and how?
    • How can we open schools safely?
  • This is an opportunity to be heard on what matters most to families and students. All the school board trustees will be in attendance in addition to FUSD employees. All stakeholders will be in one place, while parents share their concerns, compliments, and suggestions.
  • We are planning to host a listening session for secondary parents next week.
  • Note: Register early. Participant slots are limited and not guaranteed. Zoom link will be sent before the session. We will try to set up a YouTube live link.
