"Flying on Mars" with Dr. Pascal Lee

The Brookvale PTA is very excited to welcome back Dr. Pascal Lee for three virtual assemblies (two on May 25 and one on June 1.) Each class will have the opportunity to attend a presentation by Dr. Lee on their assigned date.

Previously, Dr. Lee visited Brookvale in December 2019 for his "From Earth to Mars" presentation. His new talk is focused on NASA’s new Perseverance Rover which landed on Mars on February 18, 2021, carrying Ingenuity, a small helicopter which is the first aircraft to ever fly on another world. The talk also discusses how astronauts could one day fly around on Mars, and the type of aircraft that may be used.

Dr. Lee is an internationally known planetary scientist with two non-profit research organizations, the Mars Institute and the SETI Institute. He is the director of the NASA Haughton-Mars Project at NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View, California. Dr. Lee is also the author of "Mission: Mars," a nonfiction book for children on the future of human exploration of Mars.
