2026 Winter Chess Tournament
Wednesday, February 25, 6-8:15p @ Bugbee School 
Registration Deadline: Feb 25 by 3 PM

All current and past club program players are invited to participate in a mid-winter season chess tournament to test their chess skills with players from other schools and earn prizes. (Players registering after deadline must email to register.)

The tournament features:
•Four games for all players (and possible side tournament for additional games)
•Chess clock use with time control between 10 and 15 minutes per player per game (About the same speed as a typical club game, 20-30 minutes per game)
•Trophies/Medals for all players awarded at the event.
•Trophies for top three placements per event section (sections organized by skill strength)
•Game notation is recommended, but not required
•Touch-move rules apply (if you touch a piece you have to move it)
•All equipment provided
•NOTE: Due to difficulties with prize distribution post-event to schools, placements and as many as possible participation prizes will be produced and awarded at the event.

The tournament is for students grades K through 8. Basic ability to play chess by the rules is required.
