Bugbee Chess Program
Late Winter 2026 – 6 weeks on Thursdays after school
Registration Deadline: Feb 11

This instruction-focused chess program is offered for student grades K through 5, beginners welcome. The class includes: Group instruction on game rules, strategy and etiquette. Over-the-board one-on-one and two-on-one instruction. Home assignments for subject reinforcements. Online activities and workbook support recommendations. In-class paired casual and rated group play. (A post-session tournament together with other schools’ groups will be offered as a reinforcement and skill check after the session, typically on a Wednesday evening.)

Thursdays, 3:20 to 4:20 PM 
Feb 12, 26, Mar 5, 19, 26 and Apr 2. There is NO CLASS on Feb 19 (President’s Day week) and Mar 12 (conference week).
Grades:  K through 5, no prior experience necessary. 
Fee: $115 per player. The fee includes all in-class equipment, including chess sets, clocks, scoresheets, etc.
