Looking for Morning Announcements readers and parent helpers for the 2019-20 school year!
Do you have a current kindergartener - 4thgrader who would like to be a part of Bugbee School’s Morning Announcements next year? This is your chance to give your child the opportunity to speak over the PA system to start the day for all Bugbee students. The scripted daily announcements include a morning greeting, weather report, a few sentences about a topic of interest, the lunch menu, student and staff birthdays, and conclude with leading the school in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Student readers work together each day to divide the script, and may read as much or as little as they choose. There is always a parent volunteer present to ensure that the children have support, and experience success!
1st-3rd graders will read 2 or more days during the school year, and 4th-5th graders will be assigned to a full week. Student readers are asked to report to the front office no later than 8:30 a.m. on their assigned days, to have time to review the script.
We are also looking for additional parent helpers who can be in the office from 8:30-8:40 a.m. to supervise the children reading announcements. Time commitment is minimal, with parents typically assigned to 1-2 week-long shifts over the course of the school year.
If your child is interested in being a reader next year, or you would like to volunteer as a parent helper, please email Stacey Mayer (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Participating in Morning Announcements is a fun and easy way for children to practice their public speaking and gain confidence, and we appreciate your support of this program. We are looking forward to having new participants join us in the front office next Fall!
