Planning Volunteers Needed - Bugbee Turkey Trot/Fun Run

We need your help!

We are looking for volunteers to join the Turkey Trot Committee and help plan this event, including things like: making phone calls, organizing supplies, and other tasks that can be done at a time convenient for you.  

 

Volunteer information is included below. Please sign up if you are interested in helping.

 

Please note: There will be another call for volunteers to help on the day of the event. 

When?

This event will occur in November (exact date TBD). Planning tasks will begin next week.

 

How Much Time Will Be Needed?

An hour a week (more or less if depending on volunteers schedule).

 

What is the Turkey Trot and Why Do We Do It?

Bugbee parents started the Turkey Trot/Fun Run to start raising money for all the fun activities planned for Bugbee Student's in 5th grade. Special events in the 5th grade typically cost over $10,000 for all students to participate. Fundraising each year will help them earn that special and memorable last year at Bugbee and allow fundraising to be spread out over a few years, instead of a big fundraising push in 5th grade. Over the years, these events have included trips to Lake Compounce and Winding Trails, Nature on Wheels, a yearbook signing party & more. 

 

This event is supported by the PTO, but is organized by Parents/Teachers outside the confines of the PTO. The reason being that funds stay with each class and are managed by Bugbee staff and are separate from PTO funds.
