Dear Bugbee Families,
On April 3rd we will honor the dependent children of active duty, separated, retired, or reserve service members from all branches of the US military. The tradition of Purple Up! Day was added to combine all the colors of the various branches and wear it in support of these special children. Currently more than 1.6 million children are military dependents in the US...and some right here in West Hartford!
This year WHPS will join in this national celebration and will hold a district-wide Purple Up! for Military Kids Day on Monday, April 3, 2023. We encourage all Bugbee students, staff, and families to wear purple that day. Military children have to move frequently, adjust to new homes, schools, and communities quickly, and leave behind people and places they love all too often. Their hearts carry the weight that their caregivers might deploy, travel far from home for long stretches, and work in risky situations. These children build resilience, deep family bonds, and impressive memory banks as they live out military life. This April we want to honor all they are and all they do! Please join WHPS and wear purple on Monday, April 3, 2023.
If you are a Bugbee caregiver who is currently active duty, separated, retired, or in the reserves from any branch of the US military and you would like your Bugbee student to be recognized by Bugbee this April, please fill out this Google form (https://forms.gle/diFjoi
