Bugbee will celebrate Read Across America week on Monday, Feb. 27 - Friday, March 3. We will kick off the week with a Bugbee Book Swap! Mrs. Finley is collecting new or gently used books (please bring donations to the Bugbee Library) and students will be welcome to give a book/take a book all week long to encourage the love of reading.

On Thursday, March 2, we will recognize Reading Across America Day with a spirit day in honor of Mr. Jeffrey Palmer, a former Bugbee reading teacher who had a relentless passion for supporting the gifts within each child and engaging families to be true partners in education. Mr. Palmer passed away on April 12, 2018, but his memory continues to live on through his work as well as the Little Free Library on the primary playground. In his honor, our spirit day will invoke “Literacy Positivity” where students can either dress up in fancy clothes (Mr. Palmer was never without a tie and sports jacket!) or a shirt with a positive message or image on it.
