This instruction-focused chess program is offered for student grades K through 5, beginners welcome.
The class includes:
-Group instruction on game rules, strategy and etiquette.
-Over-the-board one-on-one and two-on-one instruction.
-Home assignments for subject reinforcements.
-Online activities and workbook support recommendations.
-In-class paired casual and rated group play.
Update: Due to registration delay the program is postponed by one week and 10 minutes is added to the class time of the first six meetings, dismissing at 4:30 PM, instead of 4:20.)
Grades: K-5
Thursdays, 3:20-4:30pm
Apr 30, May 7, 14, 21, 28, June 4 and 11*.
(*June 11 meeting will be a two-hour class with dismissal at 5:20 PM to allow enough time for our final club tournament.)
The program fee is $162 per player. The fee includes all in-class equipment, including chess sets, clocks, scoresheets, trophies, etc.
