🐉 Come Participate in the 2027 San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade! 🐑

Join the John Muir / Miller CLIP Chinese New Year Parade team as we represent our school in downtown San Francisco on Saturday, February 20, 2027 (RAIN or SHINE!).

Eligibility: Open to John Muir students (K–5) and Miller CLIP students (6–8).

Capacity: Capped at the first 50 registered participants.

Registration Opens: November 2, 2026 (via CheddarUp).

Donation Request: $60 per student (covers costumes, materials, & bus transportation to SF; e-check suggested to avoid credit card fees).

Rehearsal Schedule: Fridays from 3:15 PM – 4:45 PM starting Nov 13 at John Muir (Nov 13 & 20 for percussion auditions/practice only; full team starts Dec 4).

👧 Kindergarten - 3rd Grade After-School Note: Parents are responsible for watching and supervising their Kindergarteners during the gap between Kinder dismissal (2:35 PM) and rehearsal start (3:15 PM). Most families gather near the GLC to recharge with a quick snack. Please note: School playgrounds remain closed until upper grades dismiss at 3:05 PM.

🙋 Parent Volunteers: Parent assistance is mandatory! We need help with costumes, props, running practices, and parade-day chaperones. (Note: District fingerprinting, TB clearance & Mandated Reporter Training are required for all on-site volunteers/chaperones).
