CLIPCO April Meeting Highlights

๐ŸŽ‰ Community & Program Updates

  • The Silent Auction was a huge success, raising over $10K — thank you to all families, donors, and volunteers!
  • ๐Ÿงฎ Math Kangaroo had 146 student participants this year.
  • ๐ŸŒŽ Upcoming events:
    • CLIPCO Yard Sale & Earth Day Event — April 25
    • ๐Ÿ”ฌ Science Fair — May 21–28
    • ๐Ÿƒ Girls on the Run — May 16
    • ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ Free ASEP Brush Painting classes (Grades 2–8) on April 23 & May 14

๐Ÿซ School Updates

Muir Elementary

  • Students had a great experience at Science Camp.
  • Muir had strong participation at the CEEF Run, featuring the new mascot, Mochi!
  • A parent-led Kindergarten Easter Hunt was a huge success — thank you volunteers!
  • Planning has already started for next year’s Walden West outdoor education program.

Miller Middle School

  • 8th graders had a memorable trip to Yosemite — thank you to all parent chaperones.
  • Miller students will participate in the Special Olympics with Lawson and Cupertino Middle School.
  • Math placement information will be available on ParentVue after Spring Break.
  • On May 14, students will attend an assembly focused on inclusivity, acceptance, and respect for differences.

๐Ÿ’ฐ Financial Snapshot

  • March income included:
    • $6K company match donations
    • $5K from the Silent Auction
    • $3K interest income from savings
  • Expenses included teacher support hours, art classes, and teacher training/conferences.
  • CLIPCO expects to meet or exceed annual fundraising goals while fully covering budgeted programs and expenses.
  • Approximately $99K in company matching funds are still pending.

๐Ÿ“˜ CLIPCO Updates

  • Board elections are coming up at the end of April.
  • CLIPCO is still looking for some grade representatives for next school year.
  • The website now includes Traditional Chinese translation support.

๐Ÿง‘‍๐Ÿซ Programs & New Initiatives

  • Recess 101 feedback has been positive, especially in K–3.
  • CLIPCO is exploring a new Chinese Cultural Program for 4th & 5th graders featuring:
    • ๐Ÿฆ Lion Dance
    • ๐Ÿฅ Traditional percussion
    • Chinese cultural traditions and history
  • The proposed program would use hands-on cultural activities during the current Recess 101 time block.
