CLIPCO March Meeting Highlights

๐ŸŽ‰ Community & Program Updates

  • Lunar New Year Festival at Miller was a huge success — full of performances, lion dance, and strong community spirit! ๐Ÿงง
  • CLIP students participated in the San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade, with performances featured on district media.
  • Silent Auction raised over $7K and concluded on March 14.
  • Book Fair at Muir wrapped up successfully, featuring a fun prize wheel for students.
  • Recent & upcoming events:
    • ๐Ÿงฎ Math Kangaroo (March 19) had 170+ student participants
    • ๐Ÿ”ฌ Science Fair (May) — planning is underway with a multi-night format

๐Ÿซ School Updates

Muir Elementary

  • Chinese New Year Parade participation went very well.
  • School Site Council meeting took place on March 12.
  • We celebrated the retirement of a longtime staff member after 47 years of service ๐Ÿ’

Miller Middle School

  • Lunar New Year Festival brought the community together in a meaningful celebration of culture.
  • CLIP students hosted booths and performed during the event.
  • Math placement information for Grades 6–7 was released on March 13.

๐Ÿ’ฐ Financial Snapshot

  • February income highlights:
    • $4K LNY sponsorship
    • $9.7K stock donation (+ company match pending)
    • $8K DGC donations + match
  • Early donations have started coming in for the 2026–27 school year.
  • Expenses included teacher support, student T-shirts, and robotics programming.
  • 94% of annual fundraising goal achieved — on track to meet 100% by July.
  • 74% of budget spent to date; remaining funds will support programs through the end of the year.

๐Ÿ“Š Fundraising & Giving Updates

  • ~$80K in company matching donations are pending and expected soon.
  • Early DGC momentum has been strong, with families already pledging for next year.
  • Apple 2:1 matching campaign communications were shared via ParentSquare and Konstella.

๐Ÿ“˜ CLIPCO Updates

  • The new CLIPCO website redesign is now live — thank you to our parent volunteers!
  • A draft Gift Acceptance & Fund Policy was introduced to ensure fairness and equity:
    • Large restricted donations require board approval
    • Focus on equitable distribution across classrooms/grades
    • Portion of restricted gifts supports the broader CLIP community

๐Ÿง‘‍๐Ÿซ Programs & Staffing

  • Recess 101 program is continuing through June.
  • Planning is underway for next year’s program and staffing (decision expected by summer).
