  • Trunk or Treat was a big hit — congratulations to the winning trunks!

  • Project Cornerstone is underway — students are already on the 3rd book.

🏫 School Updates

Muir Elementary

  • Student Clubs launch next week — open to all grades.

  • Homework Club started today.

  • Principal Read-Alouds begin tomorrow with the theme “Caring for Others.”

  • Principal Chat this Friday will introduce the new student store opening Dec 2.

  • Muir hosted an international school delegation from Taiwan, with another delegation from China visiting soon.

Miller Middle School

  • Veterans Day assembly featured 30 honored veterans, flag ceremony, and classroom visits.

  • Second NWEA testing round is coming soon; this round affects next year’s math placement.

  • $243K DGC donations + $39K company match in October.

  • Additional $16K from events/book fair.

  • Investment income now at $9K YTD.

  • Personnel expenses paid: $384K (75% of PTO grant).

  • Current assets: approx. $891K after district payments; increased brokerage value from stock donations.

  • $745K raised so far — 91% of goal (about $65K short).

  • Participation:

    • K–5: 89%

    • 6–8: 74%

  • Discussion on shifting adjunct hours to a fixed annual stipend to reduce scheduling conflicts and improve budgeting.

  • Next steps: Principal Mach & Principal Iyer to refine proposal, gather teacher feedback, and present to district leadership.
