Summer School at Cambridge Heights!

In addition to district and local park district options, Cambridge Heights will also be hosting our own, free, Summer Sessions!

 

A group of our teachers will be offering a variety of sessions from 8:30 - 11:30 between June 21st and July 2nd.

 

If you are interested in having your child attend please fill out this form.

 

The sessions are open to students returning to Cambridge Heights next school year.

The Joy of Movement

Instructor- Ms. Williams

Dates: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursdays June 22, 23, 24 & June 29, 30 & July 1st

Open to: Students who are going into 1st, 2nd or 3rd Grades for the 2021-2022 School Year

 

Come experience the joy of movement! This summer camp offers fun, energetic, engaging ways of enjoying movement for all children. Creative Dance, Yoga, Social Emotional Learning Games & Activities, as well as outdoor Physical Education fun! There are amazing benefits for children who take part. Some of the benefits include coordination, focus, balance, spatial awareness, social and cognitive development, as well as creative thinking.

 

Learning through Gardening

Instructor - Mrs. Fulton

Dates: Monday - Friday, June 21 - July 2

Open to: Students who are going into 1st, 2nd or 3rd Grades for the 2021-2022 School Year

 

This camp will build reading and math skills while also getting your hands dirty :) Students will plant and cultivate a school garden area, graph and keep progress in a journal, and take part in designing needed items such as stepping stones and bird feeders.

 

Learning through Math and Reading Games

Instructor - Mrs. Swanson

Dates: Monday - Friday, June 21 - July 2

Open to: Students who are going into 1st, 2nd or 3rd Grades for the 2021-2022 School Year

 

Have fun playing games to build reading and math skills! Students will increase knowledge of foundational math skills and work on reading and writing daily while having a blast playing board games and having the opportunity to get outside for field games.

 

Steam Engineering Challenge Program

Instructor - Mrs. Benke

Dates: Monday - Friday week 1, Monday - Thursday week 2, June 21 - July 1

Open to: Students who are going into 4th and 5th Grades for the 2021-2022 School Year

 

Students will learn and use the engineering design process to participate in multiple STEAM engineering design challenges. They will practice creative problem solving, collaborating with peers, budgeting resources, celebrating and learning from mistakes, esthetically and functionally improving upon designs, and presenting their results. Projects will include: stomp rockets, parachutes, disaster resistant structures, egg drop protectors, paper airplanes, and cargo ships.

Dates: Monday - Friday week 1, Monday - Thursday week 2, June 21 - July 1

Open to: Students who are going into 4th and 5th Grades for the 2021-2022 School Year

 

It’s time to unleash your creativity and have a ton of fun! Students will research, write, and create several art projects using the influences of different artists.

 

On the last day we will have a gallery walk outside so that students from other classes can walk by and see their creations.
