Greeting Chadbourne families,

 

Welcome back to school! We hope you all had a restful and regenerative summer! We are all looking forward to a wonderful new school year. Our Vice-President position is still vacant so if you are interested in volunteering please consider signing up!

Unfortunately the data from the sign-ups last year was lost so we are asking parents to sign-up for committee chair and volunteer positions again. We are so grateful for all of the parent volunteers that make our many activities at Chadbourne such a huge success every single year. If you have any questions regarding any of the events, chair or volunteer positions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

The Vice-President shall act as an aide to the president, and in the absence of the president shall perform the duties of the president, including signing of the financial documents. If there are multiple signups here from parents, CFFA will organize elections for this role.

Halloween Trunk or Treat - Chair Signed Up: 0 / 2

This role will work closely with the Principal, CFFA and other parent volunteers to lead the organization of an annual Halloween celebration for the Chadbourne community. The event will be held after school hours in the school premises.

Fine Arts Mini Experience (FAME) - Volunteers Signed Up: 9 / 20

Each year, the FAME program has 6 lessons in its syllabus. Each lesson introduces one artist and one composer to the children. FAME volunteers are expected to prepare each lesson and present it to the kids in class. You can co-ordinate with the class teacher for a slot to come to class. We have 2 Picture Days each year - One in Fall and the other in Spring. We will have a professional vendor come on-site to take pictures of the kids. This role will lead a team of volunteers to help organize each of these events. This will be on a school day and will require you to be onsite.

The Yearbook Chair leads the team that creates the school Yearbook. The Chair solicits content submissions from Staff and students. The Chair works with the Principal, CFFA Board and our third party vendor to create and sell the yearbooks.

Assists the Yearbook Chair to collect and collate content required for the Yearbook. Ability to be present in school for photography coverage of special events will be a plus, but not a requirement.

Math Olympiad - Chair Signed Up: 2 / 2

Math Olympiad for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS) is an international math competition. CFFA sponsors the contest registration for students of 4th and 5th grades. Five contests are conducted between November and March of each school year. The MOEMS Committee Chair will lead the organization of these series of contests at Chadbourne and can decide if the contests be held in school or virtually.. Reference: https://moems.org/.

Math Olympiad - Volunteers Signed Up: 3 / 10

Assist the Committee Chairs in the organization of Math Olympiad for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS) contests. The contest is open to students of 4th and 5th grades. Five contests are conducted between November and March of each school year. Please signup only if you can commit to being available to proctor the tests (max of 1 hr per contest). Presence at school is not required if this committee decides to organize the contests virtually.

Bollywood Night - Chair Signed Up: 1 / 2

Bollywood Night is an annual fundraiser event organized at Chadbourne. Students can opt to register and participate in dance, music, fashion show and other cultural events. The event can be organized sometime in the second half of the academic year, after school hours. The Bollywood Night Chair will lead the organization of this event and work closely with the Principal, CFFA and other parent volunteers to make this event a success.

'Go Green' is a club at Chadbourne that focuses on environmental conservation activities. This role will work with the Principal, CFFA, Student Council and other parent volunteers to lead the organization of events for students that encourage the protection of our Earth.

Noetic Math - Chair Signed Up: 1 / 1

Noetic Math contests are open to students of grades 2-5. Students in Grade 1 can opt to take the Grace 2 level test. CFFA may choose to sponsor the Noetic Math contests twice a year - once in Fall and once in Spring. The Noetic Math Chair is responsible for leading the organization of the Noetic Math contests. Responsibilities: 1. Work with CFFA board to confirm sponsorship of contests. 2. Send signup sheet to parents 3. Analyze signup data; register teams on behalf of Chadbourne 4. Mentor other parent volunteers to help organize the contests 5. Send reports on aggregate participation data, results

Noetic Math - Volunteers Signed Up: 7 / 8

Noetic Math Volunteers will be required to help run the contests twice a year. No prior experience necessary. Responsibilities: 1. Email participants with relevant updates. 2. Data entry into Noetic Math portal for Chadbourne registration. 3. Distribute login credentials to participants 4. Proctoring for the contest (about 1hr each for the 2 contests; virtually). 5. Assist with distribution of certificates/medals/ribbons. NOTE: Only the proctoring will need to be done at a pre-determined time. All other tasks can be done at a time convenient to you. Effort estimate - About 10 hours per volunteer during the academic year.
