Happy Monday, Chadbourne elementary –

We hope that you are doing well during this shelter in place time. Although we would preferred to be at school out on the blacktop, in the gym and out on the fields with you running, skipping, playing games and getting our exercise in together we simply cannot. Here are some ideas about staying active during this time: 1-run in place for 30 seconds, 45 seconds, one minute every time you change subjects during the day with your online learning. You can also do this while you are relaxing watching TV when a commercial comes on. You could also do this when you’re playing a video game and it’s someone else’s turn or it is game over.2-do 10 push-ups, 15 push-ups, 25 push-ups/10 sit ups, 15 sit ups, 25 sit ups every time you change subjects during the day with your online learning. You can also do this while you are relaxing watching TV when a commercial comes on. You could also do this when you’re playing a video game and it’s someone else’s turn or it is game over. 3- Take any kind of ball that you have and create an obstacle course for yourself outside or in the driveway or a safe area that you have in your neighborhood. Pick a skill with the ball like throwing, dribbling, kicking, bouncing, and manipulate yourself and the ball through the obstacle course. Challenge your siblings, your parents, yourself to increase the pace  each time you go through. Mix up the obstacle course to challenge yourself and to keep it new and exciting.  4-With your parents permission and supervision, go for a walk/run in your neighborhood. Try to jog for one minute ( your very own speed) without stopping and then walk for a minute and then repeat for a total of 10, 15,20 minutes. 5- Find a partner and play catch. Get creative and use a variety of balls, rolled up socks, fruit (with your parents permission). Try to set your own record and then maybe even a Chadbourne record and then maybe even a world record of consecutive tosses and catches.

Stay  active, stay safe and stay fit for life! We look forward to seeing you all again soon,
