I wanted to send this again. Donations are due Friday October 7th, so please make sure they are turned into your students teacher by then. Thank you for the volunteers who signed up, I still need two more people. This is truly a great opportunity for our community to come together to help support other children who are in need.

Good Evening Chadbourne Pioneers and families.

I am excited to let you know that Chadbourne students will be participating in a food preparation fundraising opportunity to help students around the world.

Here is their Mission Statement: Kids Against Hunger is a non-profit humanitarian organization with a mission to provide fully nutritious food to impoverished children and families around the world...and around the corner. The goal of the organization is for the meals to provide a stable nutritional base from which recipient families can move their families from starvation or food insecurity to self-sufficiency.

This means our students in 2nd - 6th grade will assemble the fortified soy/rice casserole-style meals at school on October 13th from 8:30 to 10:30 and TK - 1st will write/draw caring messages and watch from the stage as the other students pack.

Donations are requested as this is a purely volunteer program so they need support to send the food to help other children in need. Each meal costs 25 cents, so if every student at Chadbourne commits to $1 they could feed 2,480 children. Last time Chadbourne raised $9,775.75 and were able to pack 20,736 meals. My goal for this year is $15,000.00 and to pack 22,000 meals. All the money goes to a good cause and I think we can surpass what we did in the past. Attached you will find a flyer with venmo and paypal options and also students doing chore to help their family and others. All money needs to be turned in by October 7th, and I will be rewarding the class with the highest amount a chalk and lunch party. Please contribute where you can and show others Chadbourne Pioneers are here to help.
