Dear Chadbourne community,
Hope you had a wonderful summer! Welcome to the new school year. This is my first letter to you since present board took over. I would touch on various topics important for starting a new school year and cover the agenda for the Parents Night. Parents Night will be held in MUR on August 22 between 6-7pm.
First things first, make sure you are signed up on Konstella along with your's student's information. If you know parents new to the community, please inform them as this letter may not find its way to them. All school wide and classroom communication is managed though Konstella. You will see many announcements from our wonderful Principal Ms. Pedrotti, our cheerful school secretary Ms. Trudy and me on Konstella regarding various school activities. On Maze day you will get your student's teacher and classroom assignment. Make sure that you move your student to the appropriate classroom after Maze Day. Last year, we had parents who were not aware of this and missed important updates from their student's teacher in the beginning of the school year. You should also join the Chadbourne Yahoo group for other important community announcements.
You can find important information about CFFA on our website. CFFA strives to fulfill the potential of every child at our school. The present board and various CFFA sponsored activities could be found there. We are a volunteer run organization. Showing trust and respect to this wonderful set of volunteers running this organization is very important. Kind words go a long way. We have a very talented community of parents at Chadbourne. We need you to share your talents and time to fulfill the potential of children in our community. You can write to the board, committee chairs or me regarding how you plan to do that. We are very short on volunteers and need your help. Last year, we had to cancel few CFFA activities due to lack of volunteers.
You may ask how can I help. Let me also tell you a personal story. Last year, my son Aadi's teacher Ms. Sun organized a drama showcase in her classroom on Shakespeare's plays. It was such wonderful experience. The students had put their heart into those plays and made the best of the resources at hand. They did really well. These children's potential would drive under a Drama Club. CFFA will have a table outside MUR for sign-ups after the Parents Night. Share your talents and time, if you care. We can't wait to get you involved and on board.
We have a wonderful Cub Scouts program run by Pack 125. Our vivacious cubmaster Joe Armstrong runs this program. Bring the new cubs to join our cub scouts on our first pack meeting on August 31 at 7pm in Chadbourne MUR. You can subscribe to Pack 125 yahoogroups for important announcements.
Elementary Beginning Band Registration will open end of August. To officially register for the Beginning After-School Band classes you MUST register online at www.fremont-education.org beginning on Wednesday, August 29th, after 4 p.m. The schedule of classes (days/times) is listed on this website. Mr. Gregory Conway runs the Hopkins band with his heart and soul. You can find more information on beginner, intermediate and advanced band programs on Hopkins Music website. Last year, Chadbourne students in the beginning band did not have a good experience. Students in the beginning band at Gomes and MSE were trained well and fared well. Your involvement can change that.
