As part of these initiatives, Chadbourne hosts Walk to School Fridays event on the first Friday of each month to foster physical and mental fitness, and responsible behavior to a sustainable planet amongst our community. Please take the time to walk with your student(s) to school from as many as blocks as possible. This is also your opportunity to bond with your student on their views on sustaianability. Committee members make event posters, greet families, serve healthy drinks, and hand out stickers. This monthly event usually joins with other sustainability initiatives, such as battery recycling, bike to school, lunch waste diversion etc.
Sustainability is important to the Chadbourne community. Green Go Pioneers is CFFA Committee that handles the sustainability initiatives at Chadbourne. This initiative includes all green programs at Chadbourne. We have walk to school, bike to school, lunch waste diversion, including the Terra Cycle program, battery and printer cartridge recycling program and the EcoClub. For lunch waste diversion, we usually have a parent train students in the first two or three weeks of the school year and then have students sign up. The details of these program and volunteering opportunities can be found by contacting the chairs Pavithra Ramaswamy, Vandana Bhrugumalla and Vaidehi Saripalli. They can be found under "Green Go Pioneers" committee on Konstella.
