Noetic Math (2023-24)

The Noetic Learning Math Contest (NLMC) is a semiannual problem-solving contest for elementary and middle school students. The goal of the contest is to develop students' problem-solving skills, to encourage their interest in math, and to inspire them to excel in math. 

CFFA will register Chadbourne students wishing to participate in this contest. CFFA or Chadbourne Staff will NOT be conducting any training sessions.

The Noetic Math Chair is responsible for leading the organization of the Noetic Math contests. CFFA may choose to sponsor the Noetic Math contests twice a year - once in Fall and once in Spring. Responsibilities: 1. Work with CFFA board to confirm sponsorship of contests. 2. Send signup sheet to parents 3. Analyze signup data; register teams on behalf of Chadbourne 4. Mentor other parent volunteers to help organize the contests 5. Send reports on aggregate participation data, results

Noetic Math Volunteers will be required to help run the contests twice a year. No prior experience necessary. Responsibilities: 1. Email participants with relevant updates. 2. Data entry into Noetic Math portal for Chadbourne registration. 3. Distribute login credentials to participants 4. Proctoring for the contest. 5. Assist with distribution of certificates/medals/ribbons. NOTE: Only the proctoring will need to be done at a pre-determined time. All other tasks can be done at a time convenient to you. Effort estimate - About 15 hours per volunteer during the academic year.
