Kim Chaffee - Author Visit
Sat, Oct 12 6:09pm

CAS had the privilege of hosting area author and teacher, Kim Chaffee, this past Friday. Ask your child about her visit....

She shared her inspiration, her writing process, and the trials and tribulations of publishing her book Her Fearless Run. Students also learned about how Kathrine Switzer's Historic Boston Marathon run spurred a story idea and a personal goal of completing the very same marathon for Kim Chaffee. Be sure to ask about how she was photobombed by Tedy Bruschi during her run!

Students were engaged and asked very thoughtful questions. They also generated many story ideas! Both Kim's and Kathrine Switzer's stories are inspiring examples of what can be accomplished when you set a series of goals and have the perseverance and grit to rise to your own challenge.

Thank you to Mrs. McKnight for arranging this quality, enriching program for CAS students. This author visit was made possible through grant funding of the Nashua School District and through PTO funding.

If you are interested in adding a signed copy of Her Fearless Run by Kim Chaffee to your book collection, look for the lilac-colored order form which will come home with your child. Kim Chaffee is generously donating a portion of each sale of her book to our PTO.
