FMS is a non-profit, parent volunteer organization that provides financial support for the K-8 Mandarin education programs at both College Park Elementary School and Bayside Academy Middle School. FMS supports the programs that are not funded by normal school district funds.
The FMS Board of Directors is made up of parent volunteers who support Mandarin learning. FMS relies on parent leaders who work with the College Park and Bayside faculty and staff to strengthen our schools and to support our students. We hope you’ll consider if this is a way you can contribute to our schools and communities.
FMS will have 2 open Board positions for the 2019-2020 school year and is looking for volunteers or nominations from the College Park and Bayside communities.
- Community Liaison--Cultivates diverse, supportive and inclusive community through FMS-supported activities and programs. Find volunteers to help at FMS events, if needed.
- Bayside Liaison--Facilitates communication between Bayside faculty and the FMS Board regarding Bayside Mandarin classroom and program funding needs (ideally this person would be a parent of an incoming or current 6th grader)
The FMS Board meets once a month in the evening to discuss funding for FMS programs and events and fundraising needs. FMS Board positions are a 2 year commitment.
Please let us know if you are interested in serving or if you can recommend another parent who’d be a great addition to the FMS Board. Please send contact information to:
