Literacy Week Update
Tue, Dec 10 8:24pm
Hello CP Families!
Literacy Week is off to a wonderful start!
Yesterday and today, teachers from a different class came to read to your child's classroom. Ask your child who visited their class.
Today was our Author Day with our authors Carmen Oliver and Bethany Hegedus. They read one of their books to the students, shared about their journey as an author, the process of writing books and the lessons they've learned along the way. Please be sure to find out what your child learned today from them!
Tomorrow is Community Readers Day. We have over 20 members of our local community coming to share a story with our College Park Pandas. Since there will be additional people on campus, there will be less parking in the lot tomorrow as we are saving spots for our Community Readers. Please allow extra time in the morning for parking and drop-off. Any food donations can be brought to the tables in front of the library tomorrow morning.
Hopefully you've all gotten sign-ups from your child's teacher about Family Reader Day on Thursday. It's a lovely opportunity to share a favorite book with your child's classmates.
We'll finish the week on Friday with Book Character dress-up Day and the Book Giveaway, where each CP student will get to select a new book to take home and dive into!
Happy Reading!
