Math Madness Teams are Forming!
From late September through mid-December there will again be an online math competition for interested 3rd - 5th graders called MathMadness. College Park has had MathMadness team(s) the last couple of years, and the children have enjoyed it. MathMadness, a play on "March Madness" is a bracket-style national math competition in which a team within a grade range is matched against other schools' teams for simultaneous online 30-minute once-weekly competitions. The collaborative nature takes the pressure off and makes it fun! This can be done from home, after school, and (with exception of the team coach) there is minimal parental involvement other than helping your child log on the first couple times.
If you are interested, please see the Math Madness Sign Up sheet below and add your name/child's name/ other info. You don't need to put in any second parent contact info if you don't want.
In about a week or so Rich Rana will give more info to those interested. Note especially whether you can be a team coach (Y/N/?) and any other comments in the Math Madness Sign Up sheet.
Note if you change your mind, Rich will remove your info any time and there is no commitment.

Fall Fundraising Has Begun!
Fall Fundraising efforts for both the PTA and FMS started this week. Both organizations, through your generous donations, provide additional staffing and resources to the school that are critical to maintaining the level of education we expect. This year, more than ever, our organizations are relying on the funds we raise in the Fall, to support these efforts. Please donate to both organizations and don't forget to ask your employer about a match.
If you have any questions, please contact the following:

PTA Help Wanteds
1-2 Yearbook Assistant/Shadow(s)
David Beltran, who has led the Yearbook Committee, for many, many years, will be leaving at the end of the school year as his daughter is graduating. So, we are looking for 1-2 parents to assist him this year in putting the yearbook together, with the expectation that they will take over the lead role the following year. Please reach out to David Beltran on Konstella if you can help.
We could still use a few more room parents for rooms 2, 3, 9, 13, 16, and 22. As a room parent, you will help your homeroom teacher communicate to the class, organize activities, and act as a liaison for the PTA. Please sign up on Konstella, if you haven't already done so, or reach out to Queenie Hua or Vicky Pao on Konstella to let them know you're interested.
