 Kindness Project

Kudos to our teacher, Mrs. Alicia Barry, leading a campus Kindness Project to coincide with Valentine's Day and Kindness Day this week. There is a large cardboard tree poster on the wall at the lunch court, close to the front gate. Students, parents, and staff are welcome to write kindness messages on post-its which are then attached to the tree. The message could be from kid to kid, kid to staff, parent to kid, parent to staff, staff to kids....and any other combination to express our gratitude. Sign up to volunteer in the morning:

School Uniform H.O.P.E Project
Our College Park graduate, and Queenie’s son Ethan Hua has initiated the H.O.P.E project (Help Our Planet Earth) during Kindness Week. We are truly thankful for his dedication and contribution to our community.   See his attached Flyer and his message:

Has your child outgrown his/her school uniforms already?! Well we may have the next size up for your child. In the spirit of Campus Kindness Project, Collage Park is launching the H.O.P.E. uniforms initiative that collects gently used boys/girls school uniforms, and donating them back to the Collage Park community to meet your growing needs. So, if you need the next size up for your child, please send an e-mail to with your request for clothes (gender, tops or bottoms, and size). Subject to availability, arrangements will be made for the clean uniforms to be picked up at the front office. If you have unneeded school uniforms and not want them to end up at the landfills, please donate them to H.O.P.E. (Help Our Planet Earth) and they will be washed and passed onto families who will appreciate them. Donations can be dropped off anytime during school hours at the front office.

 LAST CALL from Nominating Committee!

No later than Valentine’s Day - Fill out the attached PTA form and/or contact a member of the PTA Nominating Committee to be considered for election to a position on the College Park PTA Executive Board:

 Connie Chang Chinchio

Doug Christini

Victoria Pao

A strong, capable PTA Board is one of the key pillars of College Park’s success and many of the "old guard" are terming out this year or next.

The PTA and FMS both rely upon parent leaders who work with the College Park faculty and staff to strengthen our school and to support our students. Those with a particular interest in financial accountability and sustainability will find several opportunities.

While all Board positions are considered open by the Nominating Committee, the several positions may be open due to term limits or vacancies:

Executive VP

The PTA Board meets monthly on Wednesday mornings. If you are elected to the Board, you will be provided training by the 17th District PTA. I’ve attached role descriptions and the nomination form.
