PTO October Update – Lots happening at CP since school began!

 

Clothing Drive: Winter Coat & Clothing Drive 11/12-16 at CP! (And every other public school in Princeton.) Volunteer to sort on Friday 11/16 from 3-5:30 PM@CP. Distribution Saturday 11/17 from 7:30-10:30AM at CP. Donate clothing for men/women/children, shoes and boots, coats and other winter items, hats, bedding & blankets.

 

Clubs: We have had some fantastic new offerings this fall including fencing, erector sets and hand sewing. We filled 296 spots in clubs & only 11 students stayed on the waitlists. We had a few clubs that ran from 3:15-4:15 and those clubs were popular with our younger students. We are hoping to begin Winter Clubs on Jan. 7th with registration before the winter break. 

 

Events: The "Back to School" fundraiser on 10/12 at the Ivy Inn was a success!  Lots of people attended, had fun, and we raised approximately $23,000.  Thank you to everyone who donated either an auction item, or a party.  Some parties sold out the night of the event, but many parties still have open spots.  Open parties are posted on konstella for more sign-ups!

 

Nomad Pizza Fundraiser on October 23! Bring your flyer (on konstella and came home in folders), eat (order in or carry out) and raise money for CP!

 

5th Grade Events: T-Shirt & Yearbook payment due 10/19/18 ($45 per student). Terhune Pie Fundraiser forms will go out to whole school 10/22/18. Pies will be ready for pick up 11/20/18. There will be a meeting for all fifth grade parents soon – to be announced!

 

School Board Update: School Board elections are on November 6, 2018. Meet the Board of Education candidates on Wednesday, October 24 at 6 PM at Johnson Park School. Please get informed and vote!. School Referendum Update: Voters will be asked to consider a $26.9 million bond proposal during an election on December 11, 2018. For more information, see PPS site here:

Silver Graphics Update: Silver Graphics order forms will be sent home shortly. Paper orders are due by 10/29. Online orders are due by 10/31. Makes great holiday gifts!

 

Merchandise: All students and faculty/staff got the new CP t-shirts this year (new logo!) and we are selling lots of new CP merchandise on konstella now too. Check it out!

Fundraising is critical because of the support provided for all of our students. Direct donations are still being collected – any amount helps!

The PTO budget does not include the Parker Bear Fund, which raises and spends ~$10,000 to support CP students and families in financial need by subsidizing enrichment opportunities.
